Started watching the trailer and was sure I'd seen it. Didn't take long to nop'e it. Maybe I just faintly remember the trailer. Anyway, glad you liked it!
i mean they've made significantly worse hellraisers and i'm not the series' biggest fan so don't listen to me about it
but if you did i would say it should have been shorter and also the like "rules" are all over the fuckin place so maybe just do without or throw something in about how they're just making them up or whatever.
speaking of hellraiser this is pretty good, and the characters do good jobs being funny or zany i think a lot of care and motivated people worked on this also was googling and seems a lot of the spoofs were "fair use" at the time. . .i feel like today the similarities to other intellectual prop wouldn't have flown
i love the description of hellraiser movies, or at least one i can remember comes to mind that was like "(character's name) is convinced her dad is trapped in hell so she and a friend head to hell to go rescue him. . ." like that's just a cool concept to me; i think i started watching that one and was like eh this is boring or it was too scary but great concept
That said, I'd probably watch the 2022 version if I had Hulu. That said, maybe not. Who even knows?

I'm Your Man (2021)
German robot man movie. Idk if it's because of people literally doing the exact same thing as ChatGPT or what but it felt a little flat. Especially the ending, which felt like a cop out. That said, it was entertaining other than the disgusting core conceit.
The Lumet one of course. Watched it in high school and loved it. Appreciate it even more now. Absolutely one of the best written and acted films of all time. So many subtle, awesome shots. No filler.
A near perfect movie, honestly. Lumet deserves more credit. This, and Network, and Fail Safe. Dog Day Afternoon. Damn.
I had a 9 hour layover in Buenos Aires with a transfer between airports so I had some time to kill. Watched it in french with spanish subtitles so I understood about 40% of dialogue. The art style wasn't my favorite but it was pretty and cute for a kids movie.
Giant 1956 This is named like so as it's a big ass movie at 3h 21m. The Hispanics in this movie have all been painted brown face. This is James Dean's last role as he would soon die in a car crash. He's method acting. It feels a little self involved at times daring the director to rein him in. Other times I am wowed. Elizabeth Taylor is 23 when she shoots this and I'm impressed with her range. Her character ages 25 years over the course of the film. I do believe I will finish this film
i think it's probably the first francois truffault movie i've seen excellent cinematog and a really effective soundtrack the kid is a terrific actor, and combined with truffault's direction creates a really convincing, sad, and extremely real character the running scene was great
cravetv just added, or at some point added and i didnt notice, so many classic 20th century movies and criterion movies i have no idea what to watch in the last week i added to my list i think one by ingmar bergman, kurosawa, all the chow yun fat john woo movies (except hardboiled weirdly wasn't added but i've seen it many times and know it's probably the most impressive) and everytime you read the description of one there's more classics in the related, they don't want you to ever stop watching, and i think they've found i don't need new movies there's so so so many gems from the previous century
red heat starring arnold schwarzenegger and jim belushi? what the hell is this i'm starting this one immediately
I figured out how to VPN Tubi here in Turkiye, and the ads don't work, so it's adless schlock films for free for me just wish I had a little bit of that weed for this
one of my college buddies got a gig at adult swim while i was working on a feature animation at a studio nearby and he hit me up to model/render plates for them to do their style illustrations over. I think i did the big office a bedroom and one other thing. probably all on a jiz drive at the bottom of the ocean
masterpiece top to bottom im a little stunned and need to watch it again theres something about it i cant put my finger on but it feels super familiar in a lot of ways.
but yeah, technically and artistically just perfect.
and i think bash already said it - but the boy can act. somehow they made him ugly and leaned into it with extreme closeups but id still let him slide the beanpole
Lol I had the opposite thoughts on that movie. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills this year with all the celebrated movies. That one. One Battle. Come on.
Loved that it ended the way it did. The most intense scene in it though is much, much earlier - when they're squirming through that tiny, collapsing space. Having been caving probably heightened my response to it.

Taking a dip in the cesspit sticks out in my mind.
Only downside on rewatches is when I'm not sure which ending I'm getting.
