Jeepers Creepers (2001) Creepy enough, I guess, a bit corny like so many horror movies, but not bad.
Borderline (2025) Unimaginative, but a little entertaining with a somewhat Taxi Driveresque closing scene. Not terrible, but I'd take my time back.

I was just browsing the top 100 over at the seas and saw a movie called Mercy (2026) and looked it up: a detective (Chris Pratt) accused of murdering his wife has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an advanced AI judge, and man, how does this shit even get made.

I saw the trailer for that before some movie and it looked so, so bad.
Been wanting to watch Slacker again. I'm not sure how many times I've seen it. It's on a Post-It in front of me as a reminder to watch it again. Linklater is one of my favorites. What have you seen of his?
dazed and confused i know, maybe others without knowing it's interesting how adam goldberg's dazed&confused character would fit right into slacker; actually most of them would
Huh, true. He was kind of that in Dazed for sure. And it just occurred to me that's he's also in Waking Life, another Linklater. It's pretty wild. I absolutely recommend the Before trilogy as well.

Heard it was funded by far right peeps, like Melania. I know Pratt was a shitbag, but how far he has fallen, sheesh.
Fall (Netflix) If you have a problem with heights, avoid. It's very charitably a "meh" movie and entirely predictable and improbable throughout, but despite all that my hands got sweaty just watching it, which has never happened to me before while watching a film.

Sometimes you see a film and say, "where did that budget go?" Fall and The Long Walk had me like 'i'll make that shit this weekend for half'

I very much do, but, like, for whatever reason I had to make myself watch it. A sucker for single-set plays and minimal cast, I guess.
le samouraï (1967) french noir movie starring alain delon who i guess is the samurai it has a really good haunting theme, i think it's the main theme, slightly reminiscent of an organ work by cesar franck written 100 years earlier anyway having said that there's not much music but there are many many many footsteps and heels clicking throughout this movie it's well done, cinematog had some great parts and direction by jean-pierre melville the whole samurai idea is a bit on the nose, altho not on my nose as i had to google just now for some explanation
everyone's seen it at this point, i've seen it at least once before but it's really good and if you haven't seen it and know nothing about it somehow you should definitely go into it blind and also not read anymore of this post
i remember initially thinking when the van is rolling off the highway ramp, (not falling off the bridge), that it was a bit hokey joseph gordon levitt fighting scene; watching now i thought it was pretty cool like the fred astaire or lionel ritchie dancing on the ceiling, but instead fighting on the ceiling and the walls and all way more seamless and with really impressive choreography ellen (at the time) page's jump out the window and through all the levels was also really effective and cool for something as simple as just opening your eyes the soundtrack is fine, even at the time i don't recall thinking it was as hype as a lot of other people thought, or maybe i did but these days i guess that style is old hat like when chopin wrote his 2nd piano concerto and people were like 'yeah i guess it's fine' interstellar soundtrack however still sounds sensational to me tho
I haven't been able to see this in years. It was huge for me as a kid. Feel like it was a very underrated coming of age teen dramedy that made an impact on my lives. It taught me about Carmela. I learned about hookers and crabs and making out. The ending is a total gut punch. I still kinda hate it.

These were both movies that I have now seen. The first one was much, much better than the second one. I'm not really sure what they wanted to do with second one, but for an "extinction level event", that comet seemed to not wipe out shit all that well. Plus where are they getting fuel and ammunition at for all these gun fights/battles 5 years from the end of industry?

the starling
netflix says this is a comedy, but if it is, it's one of those that has to be described as "bittersweet". there aren't a lot of movies that confront the grieving process head-on and this one does it well. if you don't think melissa mccarthy can do anything other than broad comedy this would be a good one to demonstrate her range because she's great and kevin kline of course is good in everything
Man, didn't some people on here say Ghost Ship was an underrated horror movie? Cause no it sucked.

There was a movie called Undercover Brother. In the first scene, he's driving a giant Cadillac convertible or something and drinking orange soda from a cup without a lid. Almost gets in an accident, and ends up spinning 360º, all while not spilling a drop. I laughed so fucking hard. And then not once more during the entire movie
