good 80's action movie with the true style of 80s soundtrack laced with accented sounds fading out in echoes there's a lot of more people in the supporting cast than gina gershon and laurence (larry here) fishrbune mike haggerty (google him and you'll recognize), also that guy who speaks similarly to alan alda, i think he's a radio dee jay in a movie i can't remember, anyway he's in it for like 2 lines, he might be in total recall... other people as well
opening scene and ending chase scene are both ridiculous and funny
it could have been worse and if you like no-brainer 80's action movies you'll like this or maybe you've already seen it
i should rewatch hudsucker proxy; i only remember the invention of the ______ and that one of the characters spoke in the old timey atlantic accent (don't remember the name)

side effects (2013) i thought it would be better or more interesting cast performed great and the directing and cinematog was fine music was fine i don't know maybe i missed something but the story didn't hold my attention at all
this is on streaming and the opening scene is really good and then this song comes on for the credits and that's all i've seen so far that's robert downey in the middle of the wall lol anyway somehow this movie, with this title, has the audacity to be almost 2 hours long but what can you do? looks like a must-watch for me
The fact that RDJ started as a background actor, went through a lot of bad years and eventually became a superstar is pretty incredible. Less Than Zero is a must if you haven't seen it.

solaris (1972) directed by andrei tarkovsky, the criterion version, colours brightly remastered, in original russian with subs
the only music is one of bach's chorale preludes for organ, and let me say it is super effective and feels like finally breathing out whenever it hits, which isn't often
this movie is a lot to unpack and i am not the one for the job
but like i said it's remastered and visually amazing. . .the toroidal base on solaris and the locations on earth look spectacular in this version actors are all very talented and andrei tarkovsky's "directorial talents" are very impressive
anyway, it's a deeply philosophical movie, almost 3 hours, and lots of silence with just the organ music by bach i would recommend it
54 (1998) - ehhh i saw it a long time ago, on rewatch it's ok but no great performances; they keep playing tiny snippets of the famous song that get more and obvious and then they finally play the song with vocals at the end in the clerb which was nice maybe the song is best part of this movie
tuff turf (1985) this one i immediately saw the cover and was like hell yeah; it is corny in parts and unrealistic as hell in my opinion, but it's at the same time much more dramatic than expected and way more polished than such a ridiculous title and story suggests - like it has some serious la gang elements (vaguely reminiscent of things like blood in blood out, (and that's for sure a stretch but they're there) just based on whatever sort of weird gang this is supposed to be slacker (1991) the others i watched over a few days, but this one just yesterday and then finished today it's a cool film by richard linklater consisting of 1 day in texas, similar to that simpsons episode where it just keeps switching to what other characters walking by are up to that day (24 short stories about springfield or some number); my fav character is this guy who follows someone out of a coffee shop rambling on to him about the moon and mars conspiracies while the person he's following just monosyllabically acknowledges him throughout their walk one cool 90's thing that happens in this is 2 characters are sort of arguing and one is like "well we're late for the movie now so we might as well not go" and the other says "no there's another show in 2 hours i'll meet you there then" and the first one is like "i'm going into this bookstore" and the other is like "i'll see you there in 2 hours" and the first is like "ok" or something nostalgic like that
Been wanting to watch Slacker again. I'm not sure how many times I've seen it. It's on a Post-It in front of me as a reminder to watch it again. Linklater is one of my favorites. What have you seen of his?
This was probably the most miserable I have ever been in a movie theater even i hated every second of this movie and hated myself ever second i was there. Kids all said it was "fine" but also admitted they didn't really understand what was going on most of the time. Probably because they aren't on a phone all day long and this is a cartoon about a bunch of cartoon characters live streaming on their phones all fucking day what a miserable cartoon world these writers chose to create.
