My daughter went with her friends to see a movie this afternoon. They all brought blankets with them. They said everyone does it. And I'll be damned if I didn't see people walking out with blankets. I have never heard or seen this in my life.

if you’re gonna be in the negs, could they shift to using lower and lowest?

calling -12 a high is just insulting

We went to a flick when we visited our son in Illinois last summer. The theater had those ridiculously plush fully reclining seats, and all the younger people going in were toting blankets and pillows. I had never seen that before.

Theaters are gonna start renting blankies.
From: slimwhitem #2226
Date: 01/20/26 @ 4:58 AM
protip: theater blanket rentals are expensive. save money by buying enough popcorn (extra butter) to cover your person instead. the butter helps retain heat and it acts as a nice smelling blanket

bonus tip: when the movie is over you can eat your blanket
From: haze - up the back stairs #2227
Date: 01/20/26 @ 5:12 AM

I guess I didn't think about it, but that theater is one of those with the big cushy recliners. I could see a blanket there, but not in one of those traditional seat sticky floor places.
From: Space Cat - please delete this account #2234

From: slimwhitem #2235

traditional movie theater seats were like metal folding chairs welded together in ultra compact rows

sometimes they had anti sleep spikes so you didn’t miss the movie

I am in NC and they are saying up to 17” of snow. Last year we got about a half inch and the whole city shut down. If we get what they are predicting, it will be worse than the apocalypse here, and I will need to move again…damnit!

Especially for NC. I left NH to get away from this type of weather

Yeah, probably more than NH is getting. Seems like the longer I stay here, the more snow they get.

This makes me laugh. I already had an old neighbor who wants me to pick her (and her dog) up to stay with me once the first snowfall hits. 😂😂
