I'm done with my appointment and supposed to go into work now. I'm nervous about how this day will go now that ICE murdered someone in our city this morning. We were already getting hateful, racist voicemails earlier this week. I feel sick to my stomach about everything.

My heart aches when i think of us as a country. So many things wrong.

I went to city hall after my appointment to work the rest of the day. There were people shouting in the rotunda, and people starting to gather. Tons of press showing up for the mayors press conference.
I went into my suite and my boss was like GO HOME RIGHT NOW
so until further notice, I am working from home.

As soon as I pulled up to my house I just couldn't help but sob about everything.

Yeah, 2020 was very traumatic and I definitely feel a lot of those feelings that being trudged up again.
But this also feels so much bigger as it's being perpetrated by our federal government and yet it feels like it's only the beginning of something so much worse on the horizon.

I was in Fuck off nowhere WI (I forgot), then I was in Sheboygan this morning. I drove home after the job, just got in. Like 5:45 of driving. Lots of fun.

There are parts of WI I really love. Like the bar opens at 8AM if not earlier, and if you go there, there's dudes there. The fuckin bar attached to a Holiday Inn has regulars at 8AM lol.

Also cheese shops. Man I love a good cheese shop.

I'll be at the airport next week! Flying into MCI, which used to be the worst airport in the US, but is now one of the best. Have to go to this goddam nuclear power plant in KS again. I was there like 4 times last year, and now we're just doing it again.

It's fine, but this one is real secure, as you can imagine, and you have to just empty all your work stuff into the x-ray thing. Nothing can stay in the bag. And I have a LOT of work shit. And if you say anything about it, you get escorted by guys with rifles because you might be hostile lol.

2026 is gonna suck even worse than 2025.

The lawsuit ended up being the one they threatened us with months ago for being a "welcoming city".
Feels like they realized they never actually served it, and had to scramble to turn in their homework at the last minute.

I got a trip coming up for work, but it changed a bit so I had to change my hotel reservation. The lady on the phone was ridiculous lol. I'm trying to subtract a day at the end, not add a day. She said she didn't think that was possible. I was like, uh, well I won't be there, so I assure it's possible to not be somewhere.

She was completely confused by me not wanting to stay one extra night. Like it was completely baffling. I don't even know what to say about the interaction. I finally just hung up and tried like 4 different phone numbers to finally get the front desk of the hotel in shitsplat KS and that lady was like OK, yep, done in two clicks.
