i've never seen any of the new trek shows aside from one episode of picard, which was bad. they all look pretty bad and the clips i have seen, probably selectively chosen for their badness, have been pretty bad.

there's also the 50 cowboy shows that republican billionaire ranch guy pumps out every year.
i think most of those are prequels going back one generation after another.

they look boring as hell.

Like they misplaced his butt off by a foot and why even bother with the tree in the scene and why haven't I looked away!

I was JUST about to type that.
Now that we have a good GOT spinoff, House of Dragons feels SOOO uninteresting. I'm convinced I was just tricking myself to like it because it's GOT.
The characters are boring, and the writing is nowhere near as interesting as it needs to be for a show that's this slow and dull.
