Love that movie. Also, Game Night.
What Are You Streamin? - the shitty shows thread
Watched the Stranger Things series finale and thought it wrapped up very well. There's just enough mystery for spinoffs, of course. Overall, one of the better endings to a show I've seen.
Binged Primal S2 over the last couple of nights. It sticks with me for some raisin.
Not sure when I'll ever be able to watch S3, but I'm looking forward to it.

The 2 hour finale keeps losing out to 1.5 hour movies for me
i haven't seen it, but i should
i worked with/for the creator on hotel Transylvania back in the day and he is a talented mf

Ohh, S3 of Primal starts on the 11th and it's on Max next day.
Heck yep.
Heck yep.
I feel like I started watching that and fell asleep fast and never picked it back up. I need something to watch so I'll give er another go. Better not suck.
Okay the first episode was pretty good. I mean, the last dinosaur predated the first caveman by millions of years, but I guess we just have to not think about that. Hell, maybe it's an alternate universe. That means anything is possible. I learned that by watching other stuff that ran out of ideas.
it's not real
Yeah, it ain't earf. I love the background design.
Looks like watercolors a lot. I'm gonna start over.

what were everyone's favourite show of 2025?
either chair company or alien earth for me

i think The Rehearsal (s02) is probably it without thinking very hard.
the pitt is on the list for sure
HBO Max tried to make me watch The Pitt so hard that I didn't do it out of spite.
But uhhh what DID I watch... Alien Earth probably tops my list. Pluribus even though it could have used more buses. Common Side Effects. The Studio was good but there's probably a few better things I'm forgetting.

ahhh the studio
Yeah that's a tie with the rehearsal for me

I haven't finished The Chair Company yet
Could only watch 1 episode at a time it is not bingeable
Though it is easier to watch than say another neurotic show Curb Your Enthusiasm

Yeah I've never had a show melt me like it did.
The best show was Pluribus followed distantly by Severance
Aliens on the Planet Earth didn't really do it for me and I tried pretty hard. Every character on that show is so fucking annoying.

The Pitt is pure science fiction.
An emergency room in Pittsburgh should be wall-to-wall Yinzer nurses telling it like it is.

I haven't reviewed my list... but yeah Common Side Effects would be a very strong contender

Yeah. Dana's the only real one n'at. Least they ate Primanti's on the show.
Go Stillers tomorrow night!
In fact, in 1x11, Dr. Robby corrects a woman when she uses the term "BOLA" in regard to the police.
So he tells her it's "BOLO" (Be On the Lookout). However, this is Pittsburgh.
In this case "BOLA" (Be On the Lookaht) is completely appropriate.
Thank yinz.

I was bored in my hotel room so Im watching FX and Iron Man is on. Whatever. But they actually had a commercial for Devs, which was awesome, one of my favorites, but was released in 2020. I guess it was a Hulu ad or whatever, but that was kind of cool.
What do you mean by not finishing the story? It was essentially complete.
doesn't it end with them being in the dev world and her being like "and now to save the world from in the dev world"
maybe i made that up
maybe i made that up
lol wat
that was the end of barbie
Stranger Things S5
I disliked more than I liked. That seems to be the consensus across the board.
Hordes of people disliked it so much, that they created a conspiracy called "Conformity Gate" that analyzed every second of the season, finding hidden "puzzle pieces" or clues about a REAL finale that would air on Jan.7.
...it didn't.
S5 abandons the originality of past seasons and just decides to base all characters, dialogue, story structure, off of 80s movie tropes.
There is at least one scene, in every episode, where there's a circle of people in a room trying to devise a plan, and it's literally 8 people all finishing each others sentences.
Person 1: "Well if Vecna does this..."
Person 2:"...then we should be able to do that!
Person 3:"..meaning we'll then be able to blah blah blah....
Person 4: "...the blah blah blah directly into the yada yada yada!"
..and so on.
The coming out scene is....something.
I found the 2-hour finale quite lackluster, with MANY questions left unanswered.
But the final 30 minutes are pretty satisfying. They wrap up the show nicely and everyone gets a moment. The final scene of the film is really fantastic.
The main problem is it no longer feels like a Spielberg adventure — i.e. Kids on bikes falling into a spooky, Sci-Fi adventure. Season 3 was the last one that accomplished that.
Now, it's just just tropy, PG-13 horror with teenagers acting as HARD as they can.

No one told me the finale was 2 hours
Even though I enjoyed watching S5, I can't really disagree with any of your criticisms except maybe judging this season for using '80s movie tropes. Every season has a steady feed of '80s nostalgia and callbacks. The even managed to fit Red Dawn into a season. I wish they would have decided on exactly how much punishment a demigorgon can take much earlier on and stuck with it though.
Also the level of hate at the finale is hilarious. You'd think it was as bad as Game of Thrones or something. The "Conformity Gate" thing is just...I dunno. We really need third places back as a society.
I thought it was pretty aight.
I like me a sci-fi and world building and effects and a bonkers story.

lololol that is perfect.
I def didn't hate it. I will revisit it a few years. But....I also didn't hate the GOT finale.

Just viewed with my eyes 2x1 of The Pitt. It's still good.
ooh its back
I spaced it last night on account of I didn't know,
but maybe also because of I have had did whatever.

oh man - what did they do with the mix on this eppy?
did you notice that?
it sounds like they are on stage in an empty theater, reverby
very weird compared to season1

I did not. Holy fudge, it's totally evident.
Some sort of room reverb.
