Tabletop Games - board, roleplaying, war, and more

Remember a simpler time before the social fabric imploded in slow motion every day and hobbies like playing board games, dungeons n' dragons, warhammer, etc. were a suitable and effective past time and social outlet?

Me neither.

What are you playing? What's still in shrink wrap on your shelf of shame? What kickstarter did you just back? What dm/gm/referee prep are you excited about? Did your tiefling bard fuck the dragon yet? What's the best 40k faction and why is it the Tau? Did you just start a short session of The Campaign for North Africa?

What's playing at your table?

I miss my game gang. E'rybody got old and moved and had babies and stuff.

HP's plan is apparently to fuck himself a party.

I made an account! I don't know any of these games though.

Last one I played was Zoo Vadis, which was a fluffy negotiation game. Good for parties and mixed groups.

These are Splotter Spellen games, which are pretty universally heavy weight and very fun. Board Game Arena is another good one for asynch play, but it takes a person with premium to play the best games and I feel funky about paying more to play games I already own. Yucata.de is also good.

Tabletop simulator is best but completely unsuitable for asynchronous play. I only have time for like 1-5 moves a day, sadly. If you're down, I'm definitely down!

Absolutely stomped my first game. The ghost cart is disgusting.

my friend bought Jumani Fluxx and I like its Danger card mechanism over the other Fluxx versions that use Creepers

The old CR campaigns are an investment of time I don't have right now. I'm trying to keep up w/ C4 and it's been some of the best roleplay I've seen. The D20 campaigns feel a lot more digestible and have more of the silly comedy vibe that I enjoy when I want something more casual to consume.

I tried going back and watching the Vox Machina tabletop plays about a month ago when I was sick. I was thinking it would be fun to see some of the old combat and possibly find build ideas to yoink. Getting through all those old campaigns will definitely take years for me to get through.

I've tried to start up with folks a couple of times, but find the right group is hard and I think d&d is boring as fuck.

She's played like... 2 games. She's not super enthused. But painted orcs get her excited slightly. I might get her to play a handful of games when I'm done. Which is fine. I have all the Grand Alliance Destruction armies since picking up orcs for her
