No seriously, I love that for haze. Every once in a while, you get the night you deserve.
Slay, queen, slay.
Slay, queen, slay.
I finally decided to google it because I assumed it was just standard whacking, but you know what happens when you assume.

Since we are on the topic of horrible first date movies. May I bring up The Act of Killing as the most hardcore, hit-you-in-the-face anti-war film of all time?
it's a very good, very uncomfortable movie
I took cmetz to that on a valentine's day lmao.

I looked it up and my memory on that one unreliable. I remember really not liking it but also I think I'm confusing parts of it with some of the avp ones?
Wait that's the newer one??? Predators is so much better and looked so much better iirc. Why didn't they do a sequel to that one.
Why is my life is just watching predator and star wars and aliens movies over and over again until all my memories are just a vague recollection of computer generated aliens designed by giant corporations just talking gibberish to each other and then I will die.

AVP? Prey? That's probably the third best predator movie?
i think at this point it is safe to say that when you watch any movie you remember maybe 10% and you say "wow that was great loved that."
I watched Prey last night. It was ok. What was super cool though, was learning it was the first major production movie where all the Native Americans were actually Native Americans.
Took until 2025 to do that.

Saw How to Make a Killing this weekend
It was fine enough
Certainly didn't suck, but I wouldn't say you need to rush out and see it, either

I've been making my way through the V/H/S movies and reflecting a lot on how you can make found footage work, and that there isn't only one way.
It does a few things demonstrating that found footage should have principles, but, like in all art, you can break rules if you know that you're doing what you want to.
-Its use of a frame in or around which footage is revealed gives the viewer something to try to connect it.
-The anthology model lets the footage be disparate, dissonant or consonant without interacting with each other.
-It breaks rules confidently, cutting to shots where we know there is no camera, there wouldn't be recording, or it would not have been collected even if it did exist.
Halloween, 85, and 94 are awesome, but I would watch any of them on a whim.
