Spring or Summer this year, I'm going to Colorado. Gonna get high as balls, and go to Casa Bonita.
All details to be determined, but shit I'm going by myself if I have to.

New Casa Bonita is great. The food is acceptable now and they did a hell of a job refurbishing it. Make sure you have a couple of hours after your table reservation time to just explore and have fun.

I remember going there as a kid back in the late 80s or early 90s

My favorite new feature is the walk-up bars so you can keep drinkin while you're walking around. And the parrot that shits when it gives you a (mis)fortune.

i have friends that had their entire childhoods shaped by casa bonita. i always felt like i must have missed some kind of developmental milestone because MY memory of it was like “the monkey on the tightrope was p dope, but besides that, this place is a little much for cafeteria-mex in a cave… can we not come here again?

the flag thing got old quick, please do not raise it again because the drugged out teenager that pops out of nowhere creeps me out”

Google maps says about 1,770 miles / 26 hours. I've got a low mileage standard Camry (not electric or hybrid). Ballpark $150 for gas. Then I got $500 set aside for weed and another $500 for dinner. I'm gonna post pictures from there and you're all gonna be like, "dude I should have gone".

What’s the deal with this place.
Is it just an Applebees crossed with rainforest cafe?

I'm starting chemo soon. If it happens before that or after I give up on it, I'm in.

It's a theme park restaurant. It used to have dogshit cafeteria food and was not maintained.

But now it's pretty awesome. The food is good (not amazing) and 30 million in renovations have brought the charm back.

since it reopened up until somewhat recently it was an invite only lottery system.

it's reservation only still but it looks like there are a lot of openings. guess the hype wore off.
it's a fun place to spend a couple hours, especially if you have kids.

anyway i'm busy that day, sorry.

Anybody know when Denver gets survivable for a Floridaman? I don't really do seasons.

Denver is generally warm enough for weatherbabies starting in April but can get snow all the way up to June. Snow in May is uncommon but does happen.
