Anyone have any side tattoos?
Thinking about getting one on the side of my torso,
pretty much hip to armpit.
Design being an old camelback straightedge.

Wondering how bad an idea it is.

I don't have any but I've done a shit ton of them and the universal consensus is that the torso sucks.
Ribs, stomach, chest, back in "holy fuck" to "not so terrible" pain order.
There were a few who straight took it on the ribs/stomach; most wanted topical anesthetic.

Fun fact about rib tattoos: The stencil stretches to about 1 1/4 of the original size when they have you lie/sit on the table/chair and raise your arm over your head to stretch the skin for them.

i worked with a tech that got his 2 astrological signs as skeletons on one of his sides from hip to armpit. monkey skeleton with a lion's skull. looked pretty cool, but definitely wouldn't work with my combo.

I did have a Post-It sketch that I was considering for a tattoo.
It was of a snail climbing up a rocky slope with the haiku by Issa
"O snail, slowly but slowly, climb Mount Fuji"
Which I ended up using in my wedding vows.

When I was I think seventeen, my mother told me,

The result is I've had two forearm tattoos that I've wanted for about twenty years now,
Except I never wear short sleeves so it's like, who gives a shit.

i was thinking tonight about a tattoo idea
just a lil "icecream" text in one of my persistent fat roll cracks
or maybe like a gucci mane icecream cone

so like when im feeling down and looking at my fatass in the mirror
grabbing rolls and lamenting
ill see the lil icecream and remember the journey

The only ones I still want are S Juan de la Cruz' drawing of Christ on the Cross and the PHOS ZOE equilateral cross.

it took like 3? 3 1/2 hours? wasn't that bad except for all the thin sharp detail lines at the end going through/over raw parts. But I have a high pain threshold (not tolerance) and was also fueled by spite from my ex stopping into the parlor and saying there was no way I'd make it through a rib tattoo that size in one sitting.

my one good friend from college and I were both bio majors and decided to get drosophila melanogaster tattoos but not matching ones and without seeing each other's idea first so I got that one with an antennapedia mutation and she got one on her shoulder of two fruit flies fuckin which is way better tbh
