If I watch Mark Carney speak this morning about this tragedy I have to force back tears. Even Pierre Poilievre's remarks were touching as well.
Those kids are the same ages as my own. I hope those families that town can heal from this ...

There was a dad of a student interviewed on CBC. His daughter is safe , but some of her classmates were victims. I was super close to losing it watching that guy. I can’t even imagine how I’d handle being that close to the tragedy.

I was also reading about this and talked to a friend who applied for her Canadian citizenship (though not through such a distant connection) and she said it was a fairly painless process once she had her paperwork in order clearly showing her descent from a Canadian citizen. I've started collecting birth/death/marriage certificates myself.
