SIL was on the news last week talking about how ICE and daycare scrutiny was negatively affecting her daycare businesses, both employees and clients.

Now someone has broken into her house. Luckily it was their old house they just moved out of, that doesn't have much there, and nothing seemed stolen.
They are storing an Escalade for her brother there, but the keys were still on the table and not taken.
But it is in a townhome community and pretty unheard of in that area. They also still regularly go in and out of there so it hasn't been sitting empty either.

My brother thinks they were targeted due to the news segment, and I also think it's likely.
