Come stick your dick between two 6lbs Rice-a-roni crusted mozzarella balls, generously fingerbanged with Toledo style bacon drippings, then viciously defibrilated with armadillo shavings, and served in a bidet filled to the brim with Velveeta and Applebee's signature Marlboro Red sauce.

The Google Home speaker AI has interactions with other older Google Home features like setting alarms, setting the temperature, turning off and on lights... smart house shit.
...
But the AI model does not know it has access to these things.
So I'll say stuff like, "Set an alarm for 9:50 AM and set an alarm for 9:57 AM."
And it will respond, "I can't set alarms on your devices."
"Set an alarm for 9:50 AM"
--"Okay, your alarm has been set for 9:50 AM."
"So, you can set alarms."
--"No, I cannot set alarms on your devices. I'm Google Home Gemini AI a helpful blah blah blah."

All the damn time.

Claude AI can bang out an app in a few hours that would take a team of human developers months.
I've seen it with myself in the drivers seat.
The firings and layoffs that have already happened are just a taste of what's to come.

That’s what I’m legit worried about. I’ve done the same, and I know enough to see what it is doing and why, sometimes it’s a solution I would have come up with also, sometimes not. Not to say I’m anything special, but I’m at least trying to be conscious of security flaws or unmanageable code. Though, what it is able to do is incredible…

What I see coming is non technical users creating applications very rapidly that look fancy as a “f you, look what I can do” to the software department to catch the eye of management that only think in speed and cost savings. I’ve watched mgmt make horrible choices when someone makes the promise they can have all 3 of the “good, fast, and cheap” triangle in the past. All it does it create a mess that the real software department is left to try to untangle.

That’s the short term too. Within a year I expect to have the conversation about letting go my mids because why pay developers look what joe blow can do

We’re understaffed as it is, and this is just an excuse to keep it that way if not worse

i am worried about the things that managers and governments will do because their chatbot hallucinated something for them or is just confidently wrong

not terribly concerned about the ai itself

and as far as the stories of execs finding out the ai has been hallucinating for 3 months... you didn't think to check it, and nobody noticed you weren't doing your job for 3 whole ass months? sounds like you should go flip burgers or find something productive to do with your life
