Walked an hour through snow adds time and effort
One of my favorite times of day is when I leave the gym in winter. After lifting I do 20-30 mins of cardio, so sweaty as shit. Then I just walk out to my car without my coat and go get coffee. It's like a cold plunge I guess. Or a sauna and jumping in the lake. It's the best. You have to blast the defrost and open the sun roof or all the windows will fog over immediately lol.
Little bit afraid of Friday morning when the temp is -22F and the windchill is 45F below, but I did it on Monday morning when it was -35F, so whatever I guess. It's gonna be BRISK.

i think this is the first year that i either stayed the same or lost over the holidays
because we actively did not participate in the dinner aspect of thxgiving or christmas.
it was weird but nice.

I put ~ 1 kg on, because I'm less active & more stressed this time of year.
we're getting the arctic cold tomorrow night into overnight i think
i think -25c - feels -34 was the coldest i've seen so far, projected for a few hours early saturday morning
originally it was saying sunday was gonna be something like that but with like basically no wind and i was contemplating running then but i think now we're getting the snow storm on sunday
so to sum it all up freezing cold tomorrow into saturday and snow storm sunday
just keep doing these push ups and weights and sit ups all weekend i guess

thank god i have an ellliptical. ain't gotta "run" in that bullshit
-46 coming out of the gym this morning. Hell of a cold plunge after cardio.
went running 10k despite the colder temps (-16) but no wind so it was fine once face goes numb or more likely my new theory it warms up and stays warm from the running
it always happens just before i'm about to concede and pull up the face mask and then i don't need to
eyelashes seemed like they might start freezing but never did
footing was pretty great for the most part
feels good gonna eat some buckwheat but it's "toasted" and called kasha now

Was able to just straight up row for 15 with no breaks. 2 mins at 22ish spm and 1 min at 30ish spm. Felt pretty good with that set.
nice update j(umb)face
the n is silent and also not there at all
and good progress on the row kf
are you feeling any muscle fatigue after?
my routine hasn't changed much or at all
i stretch and warm-up for about 7 or 8 minutes off the machine, set 30min timer, taking 2 one-min breaks at 10 and 20 mins.
then i sit there drenched and feeling like that guess I'll die meme guy until I snap out of it and go make some electro water and grunt indecipherably my wife

good job getting it done and being all about the life y'all
Muscles feel fine like they would after a typical workout. I'm going to swap between rowing and elliptical every other day for 15 min then doing 15 min of arms/legs/core on rotation.

That's a good routine. Be sure to add on a 5-minute cooldown at 20 s/m and a low effort/higher split to reinforce good technique and let your heart rate ease down.
It's always difficult for me to transition from high effort sprints, like 34+ s/m, back down to mid to low 20s during interval sets.
I'm heading to the driveway again to get my cardio. Did well over an hour of shoveling yesterday.
The precipitation alternated between sleet and snow for two days, so we have a weird, dense blanket. It's heavy as fuck and has to be broken up before you can shovel it away.
It makes for some intensely fast sledding, though. Got some sledding cardio in yesterday too. Hope to be able to do more today.

The fine folks over at throwflame.com have got you covered. You could even get a drone or robodog and melt the snow from inside
Yeah I've heard of olds like me dying from it. I can see why! It definitely gets the heart pumping. I'm glad I get regular cardio and work my lower back in the gym.butterknife said:

Lungs hurting and legs are jelly right now, but I'm getting closer.
