On the plus side, the US is helping unite the world!

All that trade and influence that used to go via the US is no longer needed, we're out here making deals to bypass an unstable former ally. Anyone who thinks 'things will improve once he's gone...' fails to realise the long term damage he has exposed - not even caused, just exposed.
We now know that there are no safeguards in place and that agreements or contracts with the US are not worth the paper they're written on. Sure, the law says... but if the wrong person is in power, the law doesn't mean shit, apparently.

Noone will trust the US again, knowing that we're potentially only ever 4 years away from all agreements being worth fuck all. Why would anyone tie themselves to that hand grenade? The US used to make it difficult or more expensive to cut them out or do business without them, but now they have shown it is too expensive not to have an alternative.

Well done those Trumpers! You genuinely might have started the US' decline by showing the world that perhaps we don't need to let the US be at the centre of everything (not to mention the damage they will cause to the trust in the USD etc. if they make the federal reserve chair a puppet for whoever is in power).

If the whole world sees you as unstable and actively works to make you irrelevant, voting for a new ringmaster wont matter if the circus stays unchanged.

I can't really speak to the day to day reality of people, since I'm not there - but I will say, that (looking in from Australia) it feels like average americans are just now realising what has been obvious to others - that things have actually been bad there for quite a long time, and feeling hoplessness at knowing just how hard it will be to change any of it.
