I'm an admin.

I suspect the department leadership is trying to push me out and replace me with a young temp who earns a lot less and doesnt ever put boundaries on her time.
Our budget is in the shitter and my boss's boss has it out for me anyway and has written me up once already for a bullshit unattainable deadline I wasn't able to meet.

My regular weekly check in was rescheduled for friday morning, and my boss had a meeting on her calendar today wth HR called "connect", and theres already a job posting for an admin. Its the end of the pay cycle which is when they like to fire folks. They also told the temp she would be moved to the admin team "soon".

Ive been job hunting, but it would be nice to have a little time off in between. This job has been absolute chaos and I'm definitely teetering on the edge of autistic burnout.

I was an admin too.
And then I got a master's in IT management.
So I had to stay an admin.
I'm really good at it but I hate it because they make you do everything and pay you jack shit. I was doing at least 4 people's jobs, then my coworker quit and I was then doing 6 peoples jobs for the same pay.
I fucking hated it. It still pisses me off thinking about it.
Now I'm unemployed because my last job (first job post degree) was an admin job that sent me over the edge mentally and I nearly checked myself in for a grippy sock vacation.

So there's this theory in baseball that if you're succeeding at a better-than-expected rate, you're probably not doing it enough (bunts, sacrifice flies, scoring from second, etc.), whereas if your results are pretty grim, you're probably exhausting your luck. There's a grey area and you don't really know until you come out on one side or the other.

Anyway, fast food restaurants have largely decided that it's not worth trying to be better, because tired people will accept it, whereas neighborhood joints will get after it because they can.
In-N-Out, Del Taco, and Jack In The Box will whup you though, because they tend to set up near schools and commuter epicenters.

All these tax dollars and no one sells a decent burger.
