Anyway, I had a leave request from one of my guys this morning, and the reason (they don't have to give a reason) was: "Maundy Thursday Mass went a lot longer than I expected"

This dude is getting married soon and I checked out their registry and it's a whole lot of religious stuff - different types of bibles, a Mary statue, those things ppl kneel on to pray, a couple of books about drinking alcohol while Catholic, lots of other stuff I don't remember, oh and a set of World Book Encyclopedias.

I didn't think you were.
It just seems odd, because it's hard to miss church or temple crowds, or churches that are obviously not defunct, or hear news stories (usually not great) about churches, and so on.
Not knowing any churchgoers and concluding that no one goes to church is... odd.

Sharing spaces has become more common here (e.g. Presbyterian in the morning, Korean Baptist in the afternoon, or Episcopalian and AME), as well as opening spaces up for other uses.
Lot of factors at play there.
