just ONCE i want to see a "hacking" scene
where the hacker is actually typing into an IDE or something
instead of just hammering away at the keyboard while there is NO text editor of any kind on screen
not "shown" but the one time they actually referred to using an IDE and more realistic kind of software programming they got roasted by the nerds "who would make a UI to trace an ip address!"
...
now 20 years later here I am telling AI to make quick throwaway UIs for QA all the time
Grandma space cat trying to ask Google stuff but ends up posting instead
Self roast bc I dont know how to refresh tubi
i like how when i was a teenager you could make fun of old people for trying to use every screen as a touch screen and trying to interact with google using natural language
and now
and now
my laptop is a touch screen and I constantly forget it
I go to wipe it off and suddenly shit is clicking and flying all over

Ok homies, I need your help.
Hubs is gone until next Saturday. I have 8 more days to myself to watch whatever (and then another 11 days later in May as well).
I need some recs for shows that are easy to watch, uplifting, kinda funny, and something i don't have to pay too close attention to (because I may be doing other projects). I've been watching true crime YouTube videos and it's not good for my mental health and I need something better.
Shows I have seen more than 3 times all the way through or shows I've just finished include:
Brooklyn 99
Parks and Rec
All of Star Trek
All of Star Wars
Ted Lasso
Columbo
Elsbeth
Poker Face
Doc Martin
American Dad
Family Guy
Rick and Morty
Bobs Burgers
All of taskmaster (new Zealand and england)
Shrinking
There's probably a bunch of shit on HBO I'm missing too
I've also watched all realty competition shows. Yes even Blow Up Australia on prime where they make balloon sculptures.
What are your go to comfort shows?
Xoxox

Before it is suggested, I do usually listen to music for a good portion of the day. I'm not overly fond of podcasts but I have my favorites that I sometimes listen to.
I have to stop listening to music for a little while because I keep singing to it and it defeats the purpose of the TV shows (which is for me to watch and not talk. I am trying to rehab a bad jaw situation).

8 out of 10 cats does countdown whenever i just need to laugh; most eps are on youtube for north america or possibly anywhere that doesn't get channel 4 or 5 i forget which one it is on, also there's no need to start at the beginning and it's probably better not to
community was brought up recently
almost human starring karl urban was brought up recently like in the last hour or so but it's only one season and not a comedy and i'm not sure it's that much of a comfort show other than comfort in the format
my suggestions aren't great at this time i'll try again later
but also just remembered bored to death on hbo might be ok i was watching that recently it's not really funny funny like you'll hurt your jaw, more chilled out or sensible chuckles with zany new york characters
or the good place also with ted danson
broad city / workaholics maybe the funniest two shows from 2010's imo
i'll think of something

I also recommend The Good Place.
I think that is my favorite show I have ever watched.

I'm not a rewatcher... but when I was a rewatcher, and if I ever was to again...
I think I'd load up on Always Sunny

if you love bobs burgers and haven't seen the great north
then what are you even waiting for
then what are you even waiting for
These are all great suggestions thank you so much.
I did watch the good place on first run and that's good one to go back to.
I have seen the great north I just forgot it.
I will check out the mentalist and community - we are currently watching only murders for the first time so it's not yet on my rewatch list.
I will also check out 8 out of 10 cats and broad city/workaholics (I vaguely remember these but I will give them another watch).
Thank you all, please keep them coming. Xoxox

sorry just have to point out that 8 out of 10 cats does countdown is a different show than 8 out of 10 cats; same host i think but countdown is the funnier one imo
Oh snap I didn't know there were two shows.
Ok thank

In season 3, episode 13 of The Mentalist (Red Alert), there is one scene where there's a hair on the lens:
ohhh if you are into stars trek and war, you should also check out stargate,
even (especially?) if you saw the original movie and didn't like it.
in my opinion, the movie completed wasted the premise
of instantaneous interplanetary wormhole travel
by only going to/from one alien planet
and the shows develop the HELL out of that concept.
structurally, it's a lot like most star treks, where each episode has a fairly self-contained storyline, usually with them visiting some new planet and having an adventure there,
but there are also long-term arcs involving the protagonists and their recurring antagonists.
apart from the concept and structure stuff,
they're also just written well (usually),
with a good mix of action and banter.
hell, the team lead in the first series is macguyver, what more could you want?

that's battlestar galactica
Get real crazy and just go straight to Stargate Universe
Took me until Euphoria 3x4 to recognize Alamo as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
I kinda like where this is going at this point, even though this one was all over the place.
Still feels aimless. It's almost the Rue show and I'm fine with that. She's so good.

Marshawn Lynch.
I thought I gave up on it halfway through S1, but I remember Ash's bathtub scene so I guess I hung with it.
It just made me feel unwell.
idk I could probably try again.
~~~~~~~~~~
S5 of The Boys, on the other hand, has been pretty funny.
I'm patiently waiting until it ends to start season 5 so I can see how people react to the last episode so I know if they fucked it hard or not
I actually liked The Sopranos ending.
Euphoria is fine to watch but super overrated. Like X-Files season three overrated.
Every Sunday my friends and I would go play soccer, grab dinner, and go to one of our homes to watch Sopranos.
That ending was one of the best and, after a minute of all the yelling, funniest endings to a show I'd ever seen.
WHOA. HEY. NO.Like X-Files season three overrated.
Are Ss 2, 4, and 5 awesome? Yes! but it's not S3's fault for falling in the middle of that run.
i am amazed at how wide of an audience euphoria seems to have.
it must portray teenagers fucking each other and adults and doing drugs in a really compelling way.
