The Curse of Oak Island is in its 13th season, and it is truly worth a watch.

They know there is nothing to be found. But they must pretend otherwise.

Keep in mind, none of these people are actors. They wasted 13 years of their lives digging holes for nothing, and now they must pretend like everything is fine. It's a fascinating foray into human disillusionment, and its relation to contractual obligation. They dig holes and stop to look at each other as if to say "Is this ever going to end?" or "What are we doing with our lives?".

What does David Zaslav have on these guys? Because it looks like some cruel punishment.

It's the myth of Sisyphus, made for basic cable.

what about fear factor: house of fear i just noticed it on crave
it's hosted by jackass kingpin johnny knoxville and it will probably be more fear factor than big brother uk, but i'll check it out
also the only proper series i've been kind of watching is industry on hbo, and it is really good but i can't seem to balance the time needed to watch it consistently
anyway goingto check this fear factor house of fear out for a few mins

i wonder who that show was marketed for to begin with?
it would seem those who are in that high paced life would have no time to watch it
i guess the entourage/succession crowd who watch for the spectacle; going to hollywood with your 4 closest friends and being a movie star isn't necessarily the dream anymore

-

anyway this fear factor house of fear first challenge seems pretty ding dang insane; like lots of reality tv shows there are rapid cuts and sound effects added in, and i can't help but think in each one of those cuts there are safetly people running around being like are you still ok are you still ok are you still ok

spoiler of what the challenge is:
Spoiler
all the contestants are vacuum sealed into giant plastic bags with a tube in one hand for oxygen and a panic button in the other i don't know it hasn't played out yet but seems ridiculously dangerous
From: Sepharo #606
Date: 03/20/26 @ 6:18 PM
one of the craziest fear factors I remember was them submerging the contestant underwater in an upside down plane fuselage with their seatbelt fastened and they had to get out
...
seems uh dangerous

I appreciate the format but it's like watching 24 if you're just waiting every week for Kiefer Sutherland to wake up still drunk in a van to meet the harsh light of the morning.

Since I only watch two shows regularly (The Pitt, Primal), every time Dr. Garcia enters the room
I hear Spear saying "Mira." She reminds me of her in a way. I'm probably crazy.

I actually just think it. Anyway, watched the new ep of The Pitt again.
A real rough one all the way around. Too many things all at once.
Also, Dana is the only one on the show who kinda has a Pittsburgh accent.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters seems to be getting worse as it goes on. The writing for the characters and their flips in mood is really unsteady. It almost feels like someone was like, "Hey there's not enough interpersonal drama," so they just have the characters randomly blow up at each other or even switch "sides" constantly. Like I'm only 6 episodes in and every episode there's a breakup+makeup seemingly out of nowhere.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is good at times and just plain "we got all our writers from the CW" at other times. I felt, overall, it was an enjoyable watch but I also like Kurt Plissken so I maybe give it too much grace. Plus, stompy monsters do eventually show up. ha

I haven't started the second season yet though.

I'm so glad I found my people.
I watch Neighbors too - you're right, it's stressful but it does make me feel better about my life.
I've also been watching The Pitt and it's also really stressful.

I'm not working right now so I'm watching a lot of TV until I can focus long enough on a project. I downloaded Tubi because it's free and it has a bunch of old movies on it (like 12 Angry Men and Lilies of the Field).
Anyway, there is this show called Doc Martin and it's about this homely man in Cornwall England who is a doctor for the whole village and he somehow lands this smokeshow teacher as his girlfriend (the show starts at season 3 on Tubi so I don't have the whole backstory). He's so awkward and direct and horrible to his patients - he would make House blush.
I cannot stop watching this show. Honestly, I'm curious if the people on here are really sick because they have convincing coughs and the makeup for cuts and stitches is pretty great too. But the actual "doctoring" is so bad.

Been watching a lot of stuff on Dropout. The new seasons of Make Some Noise, Very Important People, and Parlor Room. Also been trying to keep up with Campaign 4 over on Beacon. It's really fun to watch a group of talented people who understand the game they're playing actually do the good thing in real time.
