We're about two and a half weeks from pitchers and catchers reporting, which is a date that I look forward to every year and then say "Actually this sucks, hurry up."
The Giants signed Harrison Bader, who was a Cardinal for six years, and even though he's been on three other teams since then, I've said "Fuck you, Bader" too many times to be happy about it.

Also, not for nothing, but as we are entering the season, like the leaves changing, when the feral and arm's-length Eagles fans transform into the lovable Phillies fans. So, welcome back. Cardinals, Red Sox, Braves, eat garbage.

Enjoy it, I doubt there will be baseball in 2027.
Without a salary cap, MLB will die.

Man, DeRosa is an idiot. He let the team party after they beat Mexico because he thought they were already advancing in the tournament. Then he rested some starters in the game against Italy. Then they lost.
Now they're stuck in this scenario:
If Italy defeats Mexico, then Italy, at 4-0 in pool play, would be the Pool B winner, and Team USA, at 3-1, would be the runner-up. Italy and the U.S. would both advance to the quarterfinals.
But if Mexico defeats Italy, then Mexico, Italy and the U.S. would all be 3-1. In that scenario, Mexico would advance, but a mathematical tiebreaker would be required to determine whether Italy or the U.S. advances.

I won a candy bar on that game. I'm excited to see what's going to happen with the rockies this year because we FINALLY got a new manager and we might have a chance to win one!

I don't think the Rockies are turning a corner as long as the Monforts are at the wheel.
Not that I don't love the Rockies being the crash test dummy of the NL West or pissing away every bright spot since Helton, but that doesn't exceed how much I hate owners.
I only saw some highlights, but I liked seeing Miggy in the dugout.

I think you make a good point about the owners - I hadn't considered that. I just want to see them win a game. But thy know they don't have to do shit to win or make people come to the games because Denver is full of transplants from other states who will cheer on their own teams and the park is beautiful and people like just going to chill at this beautiful place. They don't have to put in any effort to get butts in seats so why would they? It's fucking stupid.

So generally speaking, as a fan of the worst team in the league, I like to cheer for a team that will actually win a game every once in a while in addition to my home team. Last year I rooted for the Orioles and the year before was the Pirates.
This year I haven't picked a team yet, but I'd love to hear any pitches for your home team. I like to watch the games on our cable not cable.and I love to bet quarters and candy bars on games.

Do you have no honest friends.
I'd love to hear any pitches for your home team.
I am a Giants and A's fan. Don't bother with the A's. They won't be fun again until the owners finally run it up on the rocks.
The Giants are great. Owners are still shit but aren't as brazen about it. Culture and aesthetics are pretty good and the org puts a lot into it. Fantastic history and continuity in the org, tremendous broadcast team, good community relations. I'd say the park is number one but I haven't been to PNC or Target, both of which I'm pretty sure I'd like. And this year's roster is fun and easy to root for. Except for Bader. You spend six seasons on the Cardinals with that defense, I'm gonna have some feelings about you.
Pitching staff is a little thin but that's something you only worry about when your offense is anemic.
Also if you ever need a diversion there's the Warriors, Sharks, Bay FC, Valkyries, and a WPBL team coming soon.
I think the A's will be a fun team to watch this year and might be better than you think.

Probably! But they've been young and fun before, and we've seen how that goes. And no offense to the Rivercats, but an MLB has no business playing on that field.

I don't have any friends. So the new baseball operations manager guy is the same guy that brought the A's up from nothing (Paul DePodesta). But the former third base coach is the the new manager (Warren Schaeffer). I hope, if the season goes well, that they keep DePodesta around for more than one damn year.
I did root for the Giants when they went to the post season a few years ago - they are a good team.

See, you can't say that when someone's kiddin' with you. I thought we was friends, or else I wouldn't be kidding.
Good on you for paying attention to the staff; Giants just got Ron Wotus back after he was a coach for Team Italy in the WBC, which made me happy. Familiar faces are a comfort, new ones are exciting.
Not for nothing, but I know a lot of dual Giants-Rockies fans, but no way to explain it.
