Except as everyone knows, the O in OC original OC content stands for Octopus
Sorry, maybe I wrote something badly - both options are helical.
I'm hoping for thoughts/opinions on 8" Jointer/Planer vs 12.5/13" Planer

get the bigger planer
and a separate 8" jointer
all my other bullshit still applies

ok, some good points in there, butterknife
i think its suuuper rare that i'd buy an 8" wide board though... I think I'm more likely to get the bigger planer
Your point about it maybe not being super sturdy is valid and that's a good portion of the reason i'm finally done with my Mastercraft one... think its flexing a bit
And as I said, I've never meaningfully used a jointer

I need to drill a 2 1/4" hole but my drill bits go up to 2 1/8 and then i have a 2 7/8
thanks obama
thanks obama
I don't want a through-hole, just a recessed hole
I have an insert for my oscillating spindle sander that has the exact right sized hole actually... but its only like 1/8" thick so to use a follower-bit in my router (assuming I could safely hold down my 4x9 work piece) I'd have to raise the insert like 3/4" or something...
Buying a 2 1/4" router bit is $30 and dwarfs the cost of buying the thing i'm building

please tell me this is an error of words
that’s how long it is
i don't even know what a 2 1/4" router bit would be... so yes I meant drill bit
I also ended up just drawing a circle and freehand routing it and i'm on the last glueup and its fine

p look like a big flattening bit

This is the wireless phone charger stand that I built. The body is Tigerwood and the hooks are Maple with Tigerwood inlay.

The bottom slot is for the charger and the middle for the camera-bump on my phone.
All of the routing was done freehand or using some hastily set-up guides to ride the router against.
I rounded off the corners of the body then immediately was mad because I remembered that I had planned NOT to do that because of the maple pieces.
But, I still like how it looks.

It hooks onto my nightstand and can slide back and out of the way if I want that space for anything. The nightstand legs act as stops for the hooks.
The top slot is for chapstick, which as an Albertan, I use multiple times a day 😊
is that old Crest
No I just had some blue and white lying around but now I can't unsee it.
i'm pretty happy with my routed out divot
and my mint Chapstick

So if I can just scan shit like this with my fucking iPhone, what’s the best way to model it up to look like a tiny Tank?
You're asking the best way to do something that takes teams of people years?
Either start learning CAD or just feed it into an LLM and yell at it until what you want pops out.

After watching this vid I decided to give it a try. I went with bridge multiplier of 1.5 and speed 15 mm/s.
It looked fantastic going down, and while not perfect, it's so far better than previous attempts with support.

There's some wavyness, but I'm pretty happy with it.
Change your name to WaySmoothy!
Those are great results.
I've been messing more with TPU lately and loving it.
It needs an annoying setup and to print really slow,
but the results are so good. So strong and it flexes so nice.

Did a reprint run of the coins I made last year
