would anyone else back the idea of moving the number of new posts to a column instead of sandwiching it with the thread name?

I see the total number of posts and keep thinking those are the New posts... the total number of posts is not nearly as interesting to me as the number of new posts

heavy gif and image threads still seem to have the issue where it loads to a point in the page quite above the last post. i seem to remember it was a height calculation issue.
